Been actively doing Genealogy for about 5 years and still feel like a veritable newbie!
It would be nice if we could learn 1 thing (like citations) and then go on to another, but truly, it’s all of a piece — and eventually all fits together. We are lucky if we can find and follow good teachers, like Ben.
Last weekend I attended the MoSGA state conference (Missouri State Genealogical Conference) where I attended lessons on using land information, on doing cemetery research, on combining your specific data with background history in writing your story, and on updating your skills at FamilySearch.org. Eventually it all comes together. And it ALL requires citations.
Every time I lose my head, I go look up something that I feel confused about. Then I get more courage. These forums are going to be a great help to me.
